My Approach to Therapy

Alex's approach to therapy is warm, curious, personable, and expressive. Therapy Specializations

Alex is trained through Postpartum Support International to serve clients dealing with mental health and mood issues during the perinatal phase of life, which includes trying to conceive through the first one to two years postpartum. Some concerns that clients may face during this period include anxiety, depression, obsessions and compulsions, mood issues, relationship and identity distress, and trauma surrounding infertility, difficulty conceiving, pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, birth trauma, and postpartum life adjustment.

Alex has studied and taught Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for 5 years in individual skills training and group class settings. DBT has been proven to effectively treat attachment disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders such as Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, and more. DBT is also extremely effective in improving Emotion Regulation, Communication and Boundaries in Relationships, and Tolerating Distress during Crises.
